Why am I here?  I am both one of the oldest and newest magic players.  Let me explain.

I began back in the early 90's when Beta came to my local game store.  I was a D&D player and loved battletech so I had lots of reasons to go to the shop.  When the magic cards showed up, we were natural customers.

Yes - I had Mox and Black Lotus to spare.  Dual lands weren't hard to get and we didn't really appreciate the game.  After a few years, I traded all of my stuff for Warhammer minis and lived happily ever after.

Well, not really.  About a year ago the cards called to me and I returned about halfway through Avacyn.  I went up the learning curve on formats quickly - standard, extended, modern, legacy..... Limited.  Limited?   This I liked.

I dove right in and learned to love all forms of limited - draft, sealed, winchester, rochester and cube.  I love limited.  Sadly, I'm not very good at it.  I tend to play more games instead of really focusing on making the most out of each game.

That's why I'm here.  I want to improve and I want to take down a few 8-4's on MOTO.  I've won a couple but it isn't reliable and I find myself dropping back down to 4-3-2-2s.  I don't win those often but I usually get 2 or 3 packs and have won a few.

To date - I have won 2 8-4s.  One in M13 and one in GTC (Thank you Ghost Council).

This blog will track my journey to win 8-4s.  I don't expect that anyone will read it.  That's OK.  I just want to write it.  I believe the discipline of holding myself accountable for each game with a couple of paragraphs will help me to focus.

So - here comes the journey.
